Rough Couple of Days

It all started last Thursday. I could tell that Hunter didn't feel the best, but he was still very active. On Friday he has diarrhea all day, I just assumed that he was teething. On Saturday we woke up and he was his normal self. We had a birthday party to go to for my cousins kids, Kolby and Jett. He was happy and had alot of fun and didn't seem sick at all. That night I had a friend come over to watch Hunter so Brian and I could go on a date. We haven't had one since our anniversary in July. Around 4 pm on Saturday Hunter felt a little warm so I gave him some Tylenol. Again, I thought that he was just teething. So Brian and I left for dinner and then we went to the movies. Just as the movie began, my friend called to tell us that his fever had gone up a little and that she was giving him more medicine. Then about 10 minutes later we got another call. She said that she was putting him in his pj's and he began to have the shivers, but he was shaking a little worse, and his lips turned blue. So we hurried home, and he was fine. His fever was still there and he was just laying around. So at this point I figured that he was sick. He had a fever all night long and into Sunday. That afternoon I called his doctor's office to see if maybe they would like to see him since his fever hadn't broken yet. The nurse said that they had seen a lot of patients that had the same symptoms, but that it was just a virus and he would be fine. Around 7pm Sunday Brian gave Hunter a bath, when he got him out of the bath he was shaking again and his lips were really blue and his hands were now blue. So I freaked out a little and wrapped him up in 2 fleece blankets. About 10 minutes later, he was still on my lap, he seemed to pass out a little. He closed his eyes and I rubbed his chest and it took about 6 seconds for him to open his. When he did open his eyes he seemed a little confused. I took his temp and it was 103.1. We hurried him to redi-care and they PA thought that he maybe had a seizure and to see his regular doctor in the morning. His temp when we got there was 103.5, they gave him some Tylenol and Motrin and sent us home. I was just glad that he was ok. At this point his temp had only dropped .2 degrees, so I felt that it was time that Hunter needed a blessing. My good friends dad was able to give him a blessing that night, he blessed him that his fever would leave his body. I took his temp about 30 mins after the blessing and it was back to normal. I am so grateful to my friends dad that he was able to do that. Without the blessing Hunter was probably in for a really rough night. I have such a testimony on the the power of the Priesthood. Later that night his fever returned, not nearly as bad this time. I made an appointment with his doctor on Monday afternoon. He doesn't think that he had a seizure, but that the sudden change in his temp made his body have the shivers to try to bring it down. I was relieved to hear that! The doctor thought that he was over the worst of it, so he didn't run any test and didn't really tell me what was wrong. On Wednesday, I babysit for a lady in my ward so that she can go to a class and ISU. While we were there Hunter had a rash brake out all over his tummy, back, and head. So I called the doctors office again and they told me that with all the other problems he had over the weekend that he had Roseola Virus. Once you get it you can't get it again and most kids by the age of 2 have already had it. I can't believe that he was so sick. It makes me feel so helpless. He is finally starting to feel better and hopefully by this weekend he will be climbing the walls again. This is a picture taken on Saturday night, he fell asleep on the floor on top of a mound of blankets. I don't know how anyone could be comfortable like this. Poor guy!

Crazy Day, or atleast 5 minutes of it!

Today has been a little crazy. Hunter learns so fast that sometimes I feel like I can't keep ahead of him. We have a gate in between our kitchen and living room so that he can't get into everything. Well he has learned how to break down the gate. It only takes him like 5 seconds. He has tried to climb over it and doesn't have any success, so he has learned to pull really hard at the bottom corner. Today I was doing the dishes and left him in the living room while I was doing them so that he didn't get hurt or into something he shouldn't. My hands are all gross from touching the dirty dishes and I can hear him pulling at the gate. So I begin to raise my voice telling him to stop. It didn't work. Since my hands were so gross I just let him do it, he broke it down and just kind of wandered up and down the hallway. I was ok with that. Then he decided it would be fun to be on top of the table. He climbed the chair and then jumped onto the table, where our laptop is at the moment. So I quickly get him down and put him back in the living room and put the gate back up. He bulldozed through it again. He wandered up and down the hallway(all the doors were closed or so I thought). He got very quite so I peeked around the corner to the hallway and there was no Hunter, only my open door to my room. I knew right then that he was in the bathroom, in my room. I ran back there to see him dunking a puzzle piece in and out of the toilet. How GROSS!!! I was so mad, this is not the first time he has done this. What is his fascination with the toilets. This all happened with in 5 minutes. He is a speedy little thing. Even if I keep my doors shut he has figured out how to open them. He is only 15 months old. AHHHH. He is a little bugger, but we love him. He definitely keeps us on our toes.
