The Park!

On Friday we went to Kate Curly Park, it's between 9th and 10th street before Holmes. It's a small park, but there is hardly anybody there and it is completely shaded in the evenings! Hunter really likes to be outside playing in the grass. He has become quite the little walker. He walked all over the park, picking up sticks and handfuls of grass. I love watching him explore new settings and being so excited about them.

DVD Monster!

So lately Hunter has been fascinated with the DVD's. He has learned how to open the doors and throw all my DVD's on the floor. If I shut the doors he opens them, if I put the DVD's away he puts them back on the floor. He will not leave the doors shut, even if he's not playing with the movies. Yesterday I shut the doors 3 times in a row while he was sitting there watching and I told him "NO", it didn't even phase him. He has to have the doors open. He finally fell on the corner of the door and now has a big scratch on his face. He is so stubborn! I'm not quite sure where he got that from, LOL!! He is defiantly a determined little guy, he wants what he wants and he wants it now! Brian moved the movies out of the cupboard and he still opens the doors, I think Hunter has OCD. Just kidding, but really it's driving me nuts!

Our Week in Review!

Wednesday I happened to win tickets to the Chucker's Baseball game. It was a lot of fun! Before we went we had dinner, I always put Hunter in his high chair at dinner time even if he isn't eating. I want him to learn that we always have family dinner every night!! This night we had a zip-lock bag full of licorice sitting on the table. Hunter was really whiny so Brian gave him the bag to play with, well he managed to get it opened. Brian and I were talking away and finally turned to look at him and this is what we saw!
He was so upset that I took his candy away. You can see his disappointment all over his face. Too funny!
On Friday night we had a family BBQ with Brian's parents and sister from Boise. It was also a lot of fun. We went to Tauphus Park and had hamburgers and chips and salads. Since Hunter knows how to walk now all he wanted was to be down in the grass. He always has to have a stick or a hand full of grass when he is walking. I'm thinking he is a little confused, sometimes he seems to be grazing like a COW! He tries to shove grass, leafs, sticks, and whatever else is in the grass right into his mouth. GROSS! I wish he would get past this stage of everything in mouth must be the right thing to do.
Brian gave him a whole hamburger bun to eat. It was kind of funny, he shoved as much in as possible. I think he thought we might take it away. He's growing up way to fast. I wish he could stay little forever!

Cook and stir till mixture thickens and bubbles. Stir in mustard. Add chicken. Cover and heat 10 min. Garnish with tomatoes and serve over rice.
Sarah's Crockpot Lasagna

1 lb. ground beef, Onion powder to taste, Garlic powder to taste, 2 large jar spaghetti sauce (such as Ragu in the 1 lb. 10 ounce jar), 1 package (8 ounces) lasagna noodles, 16 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese, 1 lb. cottage cheese (a little more than 1 lb.), 1/4 cup milk, 1 egg, 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, Salt and Pepper to taste
Preparation:
Brown the beef, onion, and garlic in a frying pan. Drain off any grease. Add the spaghetti sauce into the browned meat mixture. Mix well. In a separate bowl, mix the cottage cheese, milk, and egg. Beat until thoroughly mixed. Then mix in the mozzarella cheese and the parmesan cheese, so that all the cheeses are combined.Grease the slow cooker/Crock Pot with some vegetable shortening on the bottom and sides.Put about 1/4 of the meat and sauce mixture in the bottom of the slow cooker/Crock Pot. Put a layer of noodles on top of that (break or cut them if needed). Put about 1/3 of the cheese mixture on top of that. Then repeat with sauce, noodles, and cheese for another 2 layers. Top with meat sauce and more Parmesan cheese. Cook on low for 4-6 hours or until noodles are tender.

Fun Pictures!!

Lately Hunter has been fascinated with TV. He will plop his little butt down and watch whatevers on. I'm turning him into a couch potato. He really gets into Mickey Mouse or any cartoon really. I don't understand it.

For the past few weeks Hunter will get into position to do a somersault, nobody has taught him how to do this. He loves to look at his toes for this angle or try to pick up his toys while he is bent over. What a creative little guy! If you notice in the first picture you can see hair! He only has it in the back.
I was trying to get a picture of him walking, and I got this one right as he fell. He always walks with his hands out like this. He is growing up way too fast.

Rigby Lake

Today after Brian got off work we headed up to Rigby Lake to take Hunter swimming. We bought a little floaty for him and I wanted to try it out. Hunter loved the water. Once he was in the floaty he would kick his legs like he was jumping and move around the water. He did get cold pretty quick, it was a little windy this evening. We didn't get to stay as long as I had hoped we would. Brian put him down on his towel to dry off and the first thing Hunter did was get a hand full of sand and try to put it in his mouth. YUCK! I don't know what compels a baby to put everything in their mouths. Anyways, we had fun and I can't wait to go again!

4th Anniversary

I can't believe how fast the past 4 years has gone by. I am so happy that I met Brian and that we were married. I am so grateful to him, he is a wonderful father and husband. He is a hard worker and I appreciate that. I don't know where I'd be if it weren't for him. I love him so much and am so happy with him. I can't wait to see what the next 4 years bring!

July 4th!!

Happy 4th of July everyone! We had a great day yesterday! We started off the day by going down to watch the parade. They had some really nice floats! Hunter got a little flag and was waving it all around. When we put sunscreen on him somehow he got it in both of his eyes. He didn't cry, but they were all red and puffy. I felt so bad for him. One of the floats was passing out red, white, and blue necklaces and Hunter got one and chewed on it. He fell asleep half way through the parade and woke up at the very end. I'm not sure how kids sleep through all that noise.

After the parade we went up to a family friends house for a bbq. They had some really tasty food! By the end of that adventure Hunter was so tired. We went home to play games and let him have a nap, which he didn't take. Teresa had set up a place to watch the fireworks from one of the schools. The fireworks were amazing this year. I think we even saw them better at the school then we do at the river! And we made it home in about 10 mins. NO TRAFFIC!!!!!!! I am so thankful to live in America and all the freedom that comes along with it. I am also grateful to the soldiers and their families for all they have given up so that our country can be free!!
I love Hunters festive shirt. My mom got it in Lake Havasu, some guy down there tie-dies all sizes of shirts. The last couple of days Hunter has not been very good for the camera. He is not interested in looking at me at all. The only picture I got all day was this one with a dinosaur in his mouth. Oh well. Hunter loved the fireworks. He was reaching out to them like he wanted to touch them, then he would clap for them. Brian had him sitting on his shoulder so Hunter could see them better. I looked over at him and he was looking a little drunk, he hadn't taken a nap all day and was sooo tired. He was falling asleep sitting on his dads shoulder. Funny boy!

Today Hunter is 9 months old. I can't believe it. It seems like yesterday we just brought him home. I really wanted to get a cute picture of him, but he wouldn't cooperate. I did get this video of him walking though. We just love him so much! Some of the things that I LOVE about Hunter are: his smile, that he is just a happy baby, his sweet spirit, his laugh, the way he says dada, the way he gets so excited when I get him out of his crib in the morning, and most of all is that he is mine! He has brought so much joy into our lives! Happy 9 months, Hunter, we LOVE you!!

Just a side note, when I click on publish post sometimes the screen will flash and then a note pops up saying that couldn't be done and to try again. So I click on publish post again and it will publish it but with the date of the last time I posted. If this makes sence to any of you is there a way to change the date?
